General Position Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational requirements and standards.
  • Gain deep understanding of the general contracting services provided and translate complex information into technical narratives.
  • Write userfriendly technical content that meets the needs of nontechnical target audience, turning insights into language for user success.
  • Develop and maintain technical construction narratives by scope/services as reference material.
  • Evaluate current content/process and develop methods for improving the technical narratives.
  • Write compelling proposal technical approaches that present win themes and differentiators as well as details of how we will execute the work.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit technical construction content, working closely with Business Development, Proposal, Estimating, Scheduling, Safety, Quality and Operations teams to understand construction project requirements.
  • Work with Business Development and Proposal leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain technical construction information/technical narrative templates for easy data migration.

Qualifications

  • For Security Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Fouryear technical degree or a BA in English or Journalism.
  • Five or more years of experience as an effective technical writer in the program/project management, engineering or construction industry.
  • Ability to read construction plans, specifications and schedule.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in working with business development, project or construction managers, and engineers to refine content.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
