SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in the District of Columbia, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help to transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.

THIS ROLE IS A 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITION


SOME (So Others Might Eat) is actively seeking a part-time Job Development Contractor to provide assistance to our Center for Employment Training program located at 4430 Benning Road, NE in Washington, DC 20019.


Job Research:

Conduct comprehensive research to identify employment prospects within the healthcare and building trades sectors.

Utilize various resources such as online job boards, company websites, industry publications, and professional networks to gather information on available positions, job prerequisites, and recruitment procedures.


Company Engagement:


Networking:

Participate in industry-specific events, networking gatherings, and job fairs to broaden professional contacts and gain insights into job opportunities.

Interact with representatives from healthcare facilities, construction firms, trade associations, and community groups to explore collaborative ventures and job prospects.


Employment Fair Engagement:


Schedule (Time Commitment): hours weekly***
