    Job DescriptionPosition Description
    The Senior Systems Engineer (Windows) is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based systems and infrastructure within the department. This role requires a deep understanding of Windows Server environments, including expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting. The Senior Systems Engineer ensures the reliability, performance, and security of Windows systems, overseeing system upgrades, patches, and configurations in alignment with DoD security policies and guidelines. They collaborate with other IT professionals to integrate Windows systems with other technologies and to support mission-critical operations. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting complex issues, providing technical leadership and guidance, and developing strategies for system optimization and scalability. This position demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and secure environment. Staying current with the latest Windows technologies and cybersecurity trends is crucial to effectively address evolving challenges and contribute to the DoD's operational readiness and security.

    Requires Security Clearance: TS/SCI position. Personnel must possess a final DoD-granted TS with SCI eligibility.

    Certification: CSSP or CASP

    Education: High School diploma/GED

    Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years of directly relevant experience.
      1. This experience must have been performed within the last ten years.
    • Demonstrated experience in technical and engineering support toward the design, development, installation, test, and operation of Microsoft Windows systems and services in an enterprise environment (accommodating up to 5,000 users) in accordance with DoD/USN/NRL security practices and reporting requirements.
    • Demonstrated experience managing environments supporting workstations for up to 5,000 users utilizing industry-standard tools. Experience with Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK), User State Migration Tool (USMT), and other tools selected for use within the environment is required on both unclassified and classified networks.
    • Demonstrated experience in the design, installation, and deployment of a large-scale Microsoft cloud environment to include the architecture of a solution for identity management and connectivity across multiple Navy warfare centers. Experience with Microsoft cloud connectivity components, including Azure Active Directory Connect (AADC), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and their dependencies, is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in the configuration of systems and services to meet Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert Bulletin (IAVA/B) compliance requirements as well as all applicable Standard Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements and compliance with all Navy Communications Tasking Orders (CTO), Operations Orders (OPORD) and other Navy and/or DoD Directives as applicable to the subject SOW.
