    Description

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a Financial Services firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, planning, and reporting for our firm and its investment entities. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, financial statements, and the unique tax considerations of the Private Equity industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Preparation and Review:

    • Prepare and review K-1 forms for partnerships, LLCs, and S corporations, ensuring accurate allocation of income, deductions, and credits to individual partners or shareholders.
    • Reconcile K-1 schedules with underlying financial statements and tax returns.
    • Coordinate with internal teams or external partners to gather necessary information for K-1 preparation.

    Tax Compliance:

    • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for the firm and its investment entities.
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax forms and payments.
    • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.

    Tax Planning and Strategy:

    • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the firm's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
    • Provide guidance on structuring investment transactions to achieve tax efficiency.
    • Coordinate with external tax advisors and legal counsel as needed.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including income tax provisions and disclosures.
    • Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting for tax-related matters.
    • Support internal and external audits related to tax issues.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or master's degree in taxation preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 of tax accounting experience, with a focus on Private Equity or financial services industry.
    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax regulations.
    • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
