What Will You Do?


Develop and manage the implementation of a pricing strategy that balances strategic value of opportunities within established guidelines with sound business judgement to grow sales profitably.

This will include establishing pricing teams parameters for approving project pricing in all channels to help eliminate channel conflict.

  • Identify and incorporate competitor product and market behavior in pricing strategies at both the micro and macro levels to balance top line sales growth with product positioning in the market as it relates to price.
  • Manages Pricing team in daytoday pricing decisions on all pricing related activities through U.S. and Canadian Electrical Distributors, Consumer/Retail channel, Lighting Showrooms, Furniture Dealers, Low Voltage and export markets.
  • Develop, train, and motivate staff. Encourage positive attitudes and strong morale.
  • Work with the Sales Management team, manage all to maintain price strategy, policies, procedures, and guidelines related to stock and project job business. Develop customer segmentation reporting and help sales leaders align inventory to grow sales.
  • Continually monitor and analyze pricing practices and develop recommendations for improvements to the process, which creates a map of the future which enables the pursuit of profitable sales growth (volume, and mix price attainment) and controls price degradation.
  • Monitor external market pressures and implement price increases as needed to address increased commodity/product costs and tariffs, to help offset impacts of inflationary pressures.
  • Work with IT resources and/or thirdparty vendors to develop and improve electronic pricing systems and tools to support policy implementation and business needs.
  • Manage special projects as it relates to pricing initiatives. Leads crossfunctional teams assembled to capture opportunities identified by current internal pricing initiative. Project management for strategic initiatives. Analyzes ongoing pricing and negotiation performance and identify new pricing opportunities.
  • Facilitate publishing and distribution of price sheets and price data to third parties.
  • Work with finance and marketing communications to develop the incentive program, calculate the impact of changes and implement. Work with the Strategic Account managers to implement the individual National incentive agreements as needed. Review the agreements and make recommendations to secure the contracts as needed.
  • Work with product marketing and sales to help set inventory levels at key Strategic distributors, analyze large returns, and develop large inventory recommendation.
  • Work with finance to maintain the required authorizations and help facilitate any audit of the project quotations.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Marketing.
  • MBA and/or Certified Pricing Professional certification preferred.

Experience:


  • 10 years experience in marketing, finance or related field, 5+ years of experience in price management, including new product pricing, lifecycle price management, price analytics and managing cost to serve.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


  • Must have strong financial background and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Must demonstrate good judgment, well developed business ethics, integrity and consultancy skills.
  • Requires excellent organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate and conflict resolution skills required. Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in an intense, deadline driven environment.
  • Solid leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Establishes and maintains employee performance standards. Works with employees to set goals and define development needs. Provides ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines. Focus on driving performance from team.
