    Sr. Program Manager, XRV Early Development - Cambridge, United States - Moderna, Inc.

    Description

    The Role:

    The External Research Ventures (XRV) at Moderna is responsible for identifying, executing, and managing collaborations with external partners. XRV is a small but dynamic team seeking a Project Manager to help drive cutting-edge programs in Discovery and Preclinical phase, working with internal and external teams, leading the transition from partner to internal teams, and progressing programs to IND filing. Project Managers work closely with Project Leaders and Cross-functional stakeholders to develop and enable the execution of research plans and timelines from Discovery, through IND-Enabling studies, to IND filing. Additionally, there may be the opportunity within XRV to assist with Alliance activities or participate in capability assessments of potential partners. Project Management experience is required, ideally in a research or preclinical drug discovery setting.

    Heres What Youll Do:

  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with external partners, work with partner project manager to develop and foster productive cross-company relationships; assist Alliance Manager with governance meetings and other activities.
  • Manage internal cross-functional team that oversees partnership. Manage material production and shipment for partner programs.
  • Build and facilitate internal cross-functional core teams. Schedule and facilitate meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, track action items, manage team dynamics, and escalate risks as appropriate, to ensure execution of research plans.
  • Develop cross-functional project timelines and track activities against them; maintain up-to-date status on internal portals for reporting and forecasting; ensure accurate communication of program needs across the Moderna ecosystem.
  • Work with Project Leader on program objectives and priorities, scenario planning, governance presentations.
  • Work with the Finance group to implement and track program budgetand forecasts. Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelors degree in a scientific field with 7 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Knowledge of early drug development including the transition of novel candidates from discovery through first in man studies.
  • Proven track record of successful project management experience preferably supporting early-stage drug development programs.
  • Prior experience managing or working within cross-functional project teams with timeline management and budgetary responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated organizationalaptitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; ability to adapt to changes with demonstrated flexibility to pivot fearlessly as warranted and needed.
  • Acts like an owner, acts with dynamic range, pursues options in parallel and removes viscosity, and strives to push past possible.
  • Preferred: Laboratory experience in an academic or biotechnology setting
