Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Advocate to join our team. As a Peer Advocate, you will provide support and guidance to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. Your role will involve utilizing your own lived experience to inspire and empower others on their journey towards recovery. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals in need.

Responsibilities:

Provide peer support and advocacy to individuals with behavioral health needs
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage and empower clients
Serve as a mentor and role model, sharing personal experiences of recovery
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
Assist clients in accessing community resources and support services
Conduct crisis interventions and provide emotional support during difficult times
Facilitate support groups and educational workshops on various topics related to mental health and addiction
Maintain accurate and confidential client records

Experience:

Lived experience with behavioral health challenges and personal recovery is required
Knowledge of social work principles, behavioral health systems, and addiction counseling
Strong understanding of crisis management techniques and intervention strategies
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with clients
Empathetic, nonjudgmental, and culturally sensitive approach
Familiarity with community resources and support services for individuals with behavioral health needs
