QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Valid Calfornia credential authorizing service in area of assignment
  • Five years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and students
  • Experience in working with small groups of children who are underperforming in visual and performing arts
  • Leadership experience in field of visual and performing arts

REPORTS TO:
Administrator as assigned


JOB GOAL:
To provide training for teachers in visual and performing arts; may assist teachers in creating attainment of visual and performing arts content standards; to provide training and support for teachers in visual and performing arts instructional strategies


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Works with teachers to help analyze and improve instructional practices
  • Helps teachers develop successful teaching strategies in art; dance; vocal, general and instrumental music; and theatre
  • Demonstrates teaching methods and techniques
  • Coordinates ongoing formative assessment
  • Assists in training and support of visual and performing arts teams
  • Leads professional study groups
  • Works closely with classroom teachers in diagnosing nature of children's disabilities and provides instructional options
  • Assists in developing classroom management strategies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

SALARY:
$78,145 - $133,656, annually; (190 day, Max. salary includes educational stipends)

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of
Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with
collective bargaining agreements when applicable

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.

Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
