ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Inc. is currently searching for a Part-Time Driver/Program Support for our Behavioral Health Services program in Long Beach, CA.


Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides comprehensive mental health services, including individual and group therapy for at-risk children and their families.

The Part-Time Driver/Program Support position will provide transportation for Behavioral Health Services Clients and will be required to work varying shifts based on business necessity and on short notice.

This position will maintain driving records and logs, perform daily vehicle safety inspections, complete daily mail deliveries, and assist with moving and organizing office supply deliveries/boxes.


The Part-Time Driver/Program Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Transport clients to and from facility throughout the day.
  • Provide transportation to other departments within the organization, when needed.
  • Assist with weekly driving schedules for Program Support Staff and maintain transportation calendar for Transportation Staff.
  • Keep weekly schedule updated with changes, cancellations, or noshows in Outlook Calendar, paying close attention to detail.
  • Maintain driving records: Mileage Logs, Transportation Authorization Forms for school pick up, copies of gas & car wash receipts, etc.
  • Perform van maintenance: check van daily for safety and complete Pre-Trip Inspection Report. Check emergency kits and hazard lights monthly to ensure they are functioning. Check to ensure vehicle registration, insurance and road side assistance documents are current.
  • Pick up and deliver interdepartmental and post office mail daily.
  • Provide departmental support and assist Administrative Support Staff as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of meetings which includes setting up tables, chairs, flipcharts, handouts, making coffee, picking up and setting up food, and any other items needed.
  • Assist in moving and organizing office supply deliveries/boxes. Responsible for putting away cases of paper in all copy rooms.
  • Prioritize and carry out tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Perform miscellaneous filing when needed.
  • Make copies of department forms when needed.
  • Complete miscellaneous errands.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

The Part-Time BHS Driver/Program Support shall possess:

  • Current California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience transporting clients/children.
  • Knowledge of California driving laws and exercise safe driving practices.
  • Ability to use electronic equipment navigational device and computer.
  • Schedule availability to work afternoon hours (such as 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) at least 4 days a week, with a willingness to work additional hours as needed and available.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and clients.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to carry, lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working in a mental health services environment is desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a postoffer, prehire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver's license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed._

Hourly Rate Range; $17-$19
