- Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
- One (1) year prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred, prior experience in infection control practice required.
- Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse. Certification by the Certification Board for Infection Control or APIC preferred. Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid.
- Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working knowledge of microbiology, immunology and epidemiology, age-specific growth and development. Must have good organizational skills and ability to manage computer databases.

Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking an Infection Control Nurse to join our team.
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the development and implementation of an Infection Control Program for all inpatient and partial hospital programs to include the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection to reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infection among patients and employees. The Infection Control Nurse provides employee health services, patient and staff education, and coordinates the Infection Control function. The Infection Control Nurse functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System and the Standards of Practice of the Center for Disease Control.
