Position Opportunity

The Associate Technician performs entry-level Field Services duties to gain knowledge and understanding of cleaning and passivation of vessels and piping.

Under supervision, Associate Technicians work together to complete the process in a safe and expedient manner to prevent unnecessary down time of the customer equipment.

Proper calculations and installation of Astro Pak equipment plus vigilant operation of said equipment is necessary.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Install, connect and set up operation for Astro Pak equipment to customer's systems to execute chemical cleaning process while wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Load/Unload vehicle with proper equipment/chemicals for specific job assignment
Ability to drive Astro Pak vehicle(s); including Forklift; Trucks, Sprinter Vans; etc.
Works with various chemicals including but not limited to: citric, caustic and other hazardous chemicals
Extensive overnight travel (over 80%) by land and/or air
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Complete all required Safety Training including OSHA Certification
Competence to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
Maintains work area clean to CEO (Clean, Efficient, Organized)/5S Standards
Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred or equivalent experience required
Possess a valid Medical DOT Certificate
Technical Training or AA Degree preferred
HAZWOPER, OSHA, Confined Space Certifications are preferred

Related Experience:

One (1) year technical training or certification course; one (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Schedule:

Willing and able to work significant overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.
3050% of work shifts may require working a night shift

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence and memos.
Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
Ability to operate and lift weightbearing equipment that can weigh up to 50 pounds
Ability to don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for different chemical mixing processes
Ability to wear a respirator as needed and/or required based on assignment
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

License:
Possess a valid class "C" driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
Noisy conditions periodically
Wet or humid conditions (indoors)
Working on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc.
Exposed to vibration (i.e. operating jackhammer, impact wrench)
Periodically improperly illuminated or awkward and confining work space

Salary and Benefits

The pay for this position has a salary of $20 to $21. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
