The City of Pittston Housing Authority is seeking to fill a customer-service related position within the Housing Authority.

The Receptionist/Scheduling Clerk will be responsible for greeting visitors, explaining key processes, setting expectations, and directing calls to appropriate parties.

The Housing Authority is seeking someone who displays positive, honest, respectful behavior and is comfortable in answering questions, directing visitors to appropriate people, and supporting agency mission to help break cycles of generational poverty within public housing locally.


Essential Duties:


  • Handles all incoming calls to the office and directs and transfers as appropriate
  • Answer questions related to parking permits, issue parking permits, and update systems to reflect accurate information for parking permits
  • Escalate issues to appropriate contacts
  • Understand general guidelines, eligibility requirements, and availability of housing units and locations
  • Oversees receptionist area and controls building access for vendors, residents, aids, walk ins, delivery personnel and others
  • Oversees key fob system and calendar for community rooms and other rooms as needed
  • Processes monthly resident changes: i.e. address changes, phone numbers, emergency contacts for residents or applicants
  • Schedules appointments as needed with housing staff
  • Creates forms and sends letters and legal documents to housing residents
  • Provides general information on program process and waiting list process to calls and walk ins
  • Assist in rent collection
  • Recommends changes to lessen administrative burdens/improve organization
  • Other traditional clerical/recepitionist duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, college education preferred
  • 12 years' experience in nonprofit or socialservices setting preferred
  • Driver's license required and ability to travel locally
  • Experience working with community outreach, community development, or working with vulnerable populations
  • Advanced computer literacy including database management, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

Pay:
$31, $35,000.00 per year
