The Demand Planner will be responsible for integrating functions of Business Development, Finance, Operations Planning, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to develop a demand plan that supports the business plan.


Scope of responsibilities includes integration of customer-provided forecast, vehicle production schedules, constraints, and financial plan while reporting OTD, developing build-to-stock recommendations, creating burn-down plans, forecasting sales, and ad hoc reporting.


_ This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Fairfield, CA._

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Generate 5 year forecast in collaboration with Business Development, customer service and vehicle production schedule.
  • Collaborate in demand review meetings with BD, Ops and finance.
  • Review and make adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends.
  • Prepare, report and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs target, OTD, and sales forecast).
  • Continuously improve forecasting techniques, method and approach.
  • Conduct forecasting analysis and ensure that the forecasting methods and being followed.
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions and inventory levels).
  • Establish and utilize best statistical models and tools in creating forecasts and inventory targets.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
    or **in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Degree in supply chain management, materials management, logistics, analytics, business or related field with 47 years of related experience.
  • Having an APICS certification is considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems is preferred, with SAP experience also preferred.
