Responsibilities:


Training and Professional Development:

  • Participate in a comprehensive training program to learn ABA principles, techniques, and intervention strategies.
  • Fulltime employees may be eligible to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). The process of attaining your RBT credential involves comprehensive training and handson experience all provided and paid for by The Shafer Center.
  • Learn individualized plans to work directly with students.
  • Receive ongoing guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.

Direct Student Support:

  • Provide oneonone support to students in the school setting in areas including: academic support, activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, bathroom as applicable), behavioral support, communication and sensory support, and development of play and social skills
  • Utilize positive reinforcement strategies to motivate and encourage students in meeting their goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field is a plus).
  • Passion for working with children and making a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
