    Job DescriptionSalary: $80,000 - $100,000

    Title: Defect Engineer

    Job Summary: The Defect Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the identification, analysis, and resolution of defects or irregularities in manufacturing processes or finished products. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Defect Identification: Implement systems and procedures to detect and identify defects during manufacturing processes or in finished products.
    • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate defects to determine the underlying causes and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
    • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain quality standards and procedures to minimize defects and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Defect Tracking and Reporting: Document defects, maintain records, and generate reports on defect trends and resolutions.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control personnel to address and resolve defects efficiently.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and defect prevention through continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Supplier Relations: Collaborate with suppliers to address material-related defects and ensure adherence to quality specifications.
    • Training and Development: Provide training and support to production and quality control teams on defect prevention strategies and quality standards.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
    • Proven experience in quality assurance, defect analysis, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
    • Proficiency in defect analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, etc.) and regulatory standards.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced certifications in quality management or defect analysis.
    • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
    • Knowledge of industry-specific manufacturing processes (electronics, automotive, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
