Work Performed:


  • Leads the planning and coordination of various city projects
  • Collaborates with department heads, stakeholders, and project teams in all aspects of the projects
  • Oversees the successful execution of projects from initiation to completion
  • Identifies, assesses, and implements strategies to mitigate potential risks associated with projects
  • Prepares comprehensive and concise project reports for the Director of Engineering
  • Maintains accurate and uptodate project documentation.
  • Assists in the preparation and update to the Capital Improvements Program for Council approval
  • Assist in the preparation of the Engineering Department's annual budget and multiyear financial plan.
  • Assists in the implementation of engineering design standards and specifications for all public infrastructure improvements within the City
  • Assists in the development and revision of municipal ordinances.
  • Prepares requests for qualifications and requests for proposals for public advertisement
  • Responds to inquiries concerning land use, project coordination, and other planning and zoning issues.
  • Directly manages the City's Project Managers.
  • Attends meeting with local, state, and federal governmental agencies.
  • Assists in the preparation of and updates to the City's Design Criteria Manual.
  • Assists in the creation, review, and revisions to the City's Technical Specifications, Standard Details, Project Financial Documents, and Engineering/Projects Procedures. Administers Texas Department of Transportation Utility Installation Requests (TxDOT UIR)

Education and Experience:


  • Completion of a 4year Civil Engineering degree or related field.
  • 710 years of drafting, surveying, drainage design, plan review, and construction inspection experience.
  • 5 years of experience in management of projects

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, State and Federal regulations, building codes, and field surveying techniques.
**This position may require 24 hour availability in emergency situations
