About the Position:


A Typical Day as a Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Specialist:

  • Develop and implement the foster parent recruitment plan to attract new foster families for the agency, pro-actively looking for new approaches for recruitment.
  • Assist current foster care licensing staff in each CYFS office with recruitment including responding to inquiries, making follow up contacts, presentations, personal contacts, creates direct mailings and/or other techniques to reach potential foster families.
  • Provide orientations to interested individuals to introduce them to the CYFS strength based, trauma informed and family centered approach to providing foster care and eliminate barriers.
  • Represent the agency at external functions as directed by the Director of Marketing and Development and the Director of Licensing and Adoption.
  • Support execution of all activities related to community awareness communication.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Service related field, Marketing, or Human Resource Management.
  • Child Welfare Experience (preferred)
  • Child Welfare Licensure (preferred)

Additional Qualifications:


  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Obtain an insured vehicle
  • At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
