YOU


As the Assistant Production Supervisor, you will assist the Production Supervisor in the development and execution of your department's plans in order to achieve overall business objectives.

You will assist in ensuring that we manufacture high quality products, within a safe working environment, and meeting output expectations of customer needs and profitability targets.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)


Coordinate the organization of work within the department by attending daily performance meetings, review and make necessary adjustments based on daily department results, correspond with internal and external customers as needed, manage the departments Ensure accurate information within systems used in the management of the department (ERP and OEE software).

Activities are focused on short term execution needs within the department. (40%)


Provide training and development of employees within the department by maintaining presence on the production floor, conducting regular check in with employees within the assigned area.

Maintain the flow of work through the assigned areas by ensuring daily plans are being effectively executed. Gain short term efficiencies by providing immediate guidance and direction the team. (15%)


Assist in maintaining good employee relations by reviewing employee timecards on a regular basis, resolving issues in a timely manner and consistent with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement, escalating unresolved issues to the department Supervisor.

Manage employee performance by leading and motivating employees using effective performance management techniques, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Twoyear degree, technical school certificate in Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 years Manufacturing experience and/or training required.
  • 1 year Managing others required.
  • Understanding of supply chain knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts preferred.
  • Understanding of financial impacts to Profit & Loss preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively mentor and develop team.
  • Understanding of quantitative analysis by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution options to problems.
  • The ability to monitor/assess your own performance and others' to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook to carry out work.
  • The ability to effectively use SAP and Kronos.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to conduct tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.


TRAVEL REQUIRED
This position may require occasional travel to other company locations.


WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This is a full-time, exempt position located in Stockton, CA. This is a Swing shift position, beginning at 3:00pm.


RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.


PAY
$60,900
