Job Description
Job DescriptionSalary:The Paul Miller Motor Company, a Lexington landmark since 1953, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. Previous dealership experience is strongly preferred.
The Controller is responsible for the financial condition of the dealership, and directing the overall financial planning, budgeting and accounting practices.
Role and Responsibilities
Review accounts payable invoices and sign checks
Review and sign completed contracts and lender agreements
Review financial information by analytical procedures and report discrepancies to managers
Review and approval of payroll
Review reconciliations and schedules
Review and post standard entries and adjust accruals
Reconcile parts inventory
Calculate manager's commissions at month end
Write update and run any management reports requested
Review and submit monthly financial statements to factory
Provide necessary census information to insurance vendors and assist in risk management
File monthly insurance reports and approve monthly bills for payment
Review, approve and submit for payment monthly workers' compensation bills
Assist senior management with pay plans
Participate in annual benefits review and open enrollment
Administer company health benefits
Assist outside accountants with preparation and review of annual income tax returns
Review and sign sales and personal property tax returns
Review, approve and submit for payment real estate tax bills
File monthly coop advertising
Reconcile advertising receivable and record dealership % coop amount
Oversee purchases of computers and other office equipment and supplies
