Your future team


Our Design Operations team is a multi-disciplinary team focused on ensuring more effective designers and a more efficient Design organization.

We operationalize and improve design practices, systems, and tools that drive craft excellence and efficiency - at scale.


We are looking for an experienced Design Operations Lead, AI to join our team to support You will report to the Head of Design Operations.


Responsibilities:


As Design Operations Lead, you will:

Lead as a strategic partner:

You will understand the big picture and drive overall success, while tactically delivering incremental value for the team and the company.

As an embedded DesignOps partner, you will partner with the Head of Design, Atlassian Intelligence, and their leadership team on org-level design initiatives.

You will focus on leading operating cadences, and scaling practices that improve quality and effectiveness.

You will be a "go-to" partner - always one step ahead, anticipating needs, identifying painpoints, and implementing solutions to enhance the effectiveness of design teams.


Bring strategy to action:

Leading multiple workstreams, you will lead collaborative efforts to improve work management practices, instill effective team practices, and ensure alignment on a global change strategy.

You will run complex - often ambiguous - programs.

You will establish processes and governance and partner with Leads to provide clear guardrails while empowering teams to move quickly.


Role model communication and influence:
You will lead through influence. Promoting shared understanding, and collaboration across teammates, leadership, designers, and partners. You will know when to drive, when to coach, and when to dive in.


Improve Design Ops excellence:

As a senior member of our team, you will help our Design Operations team improve operational best practices, strengthen feedback and learning loops, implement our long-term strategy, and lead efforts to deliver measurable outcomes within the team and across the broader Design organization.

Your background

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience delivering programs that affect people and processes, ideally in design operations, consulting, or business operations
  • Expertise in design practices and methodologies, product development lifecycle, and measurement & evaluation
  • Comfort in the level of learning and ambiguity needed to navigate fastevolving emerging technologies like AI
  • Strong program management and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience driving change management across a large, globally distributed organization
  • Expertise in measuring impact, identifying risks, and focusing projects on priorities that accomplish outcomes

Compensation

Zone A:
$188,800 - $251,700


Zone B:
$169,900 - $226,500


Zone C:
$156,700 - $208,900

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
