We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Certification Operations Technician II join our team with the Operations & Test Division.


  • This is a JETS II CBA position with Jacobs._ _

Responsibilities:


  • Perform calibrations on facility instrumentation in support of test operations, which may include temperature, pressure, and flow measurements.
  • Maintain cleanliness levels during calibration on specified hardware as required by NASA standards.
  • Mechanically and electrically disassemble and reassemble hardware as required for calibration, cleaning, or repairs.
  • Accurately complete calibration reports and file them properly.
  • Maintain calibration records using Calibration Database.
  • Maintain the facility calibration standards and process them through the MSCL as required by JSC policies.
  • Support instrumentation troubleshooting and repair activities as required.
  • Support facility gas analyzers or other equipment as required during humanintheloop testing operations.
  • Perform system checks on facility oxygen monitors as required.
  • Maintain the inventory of calibrated gases used in facility testing operations.
  • Maintain inventory of inactive instruments and spare parts in order to support test facility buildups or repair operations.
  • Perform precision measurements of facility instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Accurately enter calibration measurement results into a report on a computer that becomes the official record of calibration.
  • Lift and transport (usually on a dolly or cart) instrumentation and measurement equipment between the buildings and facilities they support.
  • Support the training and certification process of Data Certification Operations Technician I.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Here's what you'll need:


Required Skills:


  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • General computer and typing skills.
  • Knowledge of calibration and metrology concepts.
  • General knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical circuits.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field or related area.

Preferences:


  • Calibration experience.
  • Ex
perience with cleanliness levels.

  • Gas analyzer experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Physical Requirements:


Requires occasional:

  • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above or below ground level.
  • Bending, kneeling crouching, squatting and/or crawling from one to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds from ground level, at waist level and overhead.
  • Carrying up to 50 pounds for 5 yards.

Requires constant:

  • Seeing and hearing with or without correction.
  • Reaching for, handling and manipulating objects and materials in all directions.
  • Coordinating eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
  • Standing.

Requires the ability to:

  • Follow set procedures and standards.
  • Plan and work selecting proper tools.
  • Compare and understand differences in the size, shape, and form or lines, figures, and objects.
  • Follow written and oral directions, plans and blueprints.
  • Picture and evaluate solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked.
  • Recognize and report safety hazards.
