Description

As a children's aid organization based in Oberhausen/Dinslaken, we have been bringing sick and injured children from war and crisis zones to Germany for medical treatment since 1967.

Here, they are cared for in cooperating hospitals or in the medical center at Friedensdorf. After their rehabilitation in our Oberhausen facility, the children return to their families. This concept is unique worldwide.

The 2- to 12-year-old patients are accommodated in different living groups in our facility. At times, children from different nations in Africa and (Central) Asia live together in the "village" to recover together. This means that different cultures, languages, and religions come together every day.

For visitors to Friedensdorf, it is often surprising to see how easily the children communicate with each other, play together, help each other, and form friendships despite their differences.

Although the young patients have often suffered serious illnesses or injuries and are thousands of kilometers away from their families and homes, their joy for life remains unbroken.

We are currently looking for dedicated employees for our residential area who are willing to support our humanitarian aid for the children of the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Accompanying the children in their daily life at the "village"
  • Performing minor nursing tasks under supervision and documenting them
  • Our pedagogical work is based on our peace education and multicultural approach
  • Participation in team meetings, shift handovers, and training sessions
  • The weekly working hours
