    Description
    Spencer Ogden is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong Instrumentation and Controls background. This position would be a long term opportunity in the Greater New Orleans area.

    As a key player in the engineering department, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and oversight of cutting-edge designs in the realm of electrical instrumentation and controls.

    Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the successful startup of projects, compliance with specifications, and the seamless coordination of activities across manufacturing, construction, installation, and testing.


    Responsibilities:
    Collaborate in the preparation, development, and oversight of design, construction, commissioning, and startup of new plants.
    Ensure seamless design implementation and trouble-free startup.

    Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities for compliance with specifications, codes, and company requirements.

    Review equipment standards/specifications/data sheets and construction bid packages; define acceptance requirements to ensure system and product quality.
    Develop Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test Procedures; oversee testing and corrective actions.
    Review and monitor controls on scheduling durations for all project activities.
    Assemble periodic project reports and engineering activities.


    Education/Experience/Skills Required:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Technology, or related engineering degree, or equivalent work experience.
    Minimum 10 years of combined operations maintenance, operations leadership, or construction experience in electrical engineering.

    Experience in Power Distribution, Industrial Automation Supply, Oilseeds Processing, Agriculture, Biofuels, Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage, Packaging, or Chemicals; some experience with grain handling preferred.

    Demonstrated project design experience, including participation in projects over $50 M TIC.
    Exceptional verbal, written, listening, and presentation communication skills.
    Demonstrated leadership skills, including stakeholder alignment and interface management.
    Minimum 5 years of experience working across power distribution systems in 13.8 KV, 4.16KV & 480VAC.
    Experience working and developing electrical diagrams, one-line diagrams, panel/hardware design.
    Prior experience developing standards, specifications, and data sheets related to electrical deliverables.
    Design and installation experience with PLC and/or DCS systems required; knowledge of Rockwell hardware and software desired.
    Design and installation experience with VFDs, Soft Starters, FVNRs, and motor control systems.
    Proven experience analyzing and mitigating project risk; familiarity with Cause and Effect, Swiss Cheese model, or Bowtie method preferred.
    Prior experience in process control network and balance-of-plant network design and implementation.

    Strong knowledge of Hazardous Location rating assessments; familiarity with NFPA 36 and 61, and working knowledge of LOPA and Hazop.

    Familiar with Project Quality control techniques, including Inspection Requirements Specifications and Factory Acceptance Testing.

    Minimum 5 years of experience working on an owner's team at an operating asset; operational experience in oilseeds, grain handling, milling, or chemical processing is a plus.

    Experienced in using TEAMS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Navisworks 3D viewing software.
