    Description

    Reporting to a Foreman/Project Supervisor, the CDL Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator performs a wide range of tasks required for industrial and environmental service operations.

    In addition to ensuring the safe transport of equipment and assets to job sites, he/she/they may perform tank cleaning, pipeline maintenance, manual remediation services, waste bulking, and/or demolition services.

    Drive trucks, tankers and other vehicles requiring a CDL to/from job sites
    Load and unload equipment from vehicles, trailers and watercraft
    Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment utilized in field operations, such as backhoes, excavators, etc.

    Operate routinely used tools and equipment, including but not limited to: steam cleaners, water lasers, cascade systems, chemical mixers, generators, air saws, drills, grinders, cutting torches, etc.

    Perform physical labor associated with cleanup activities, sample collection, waste removal and other remediation services
    Ensure assigned equipment is maintained in optimal condition by performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance; Assist with routine facility maintenance & inventory management tasks as required
    Follow all applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site specific safety plans
    CDL Class A or Class B license required
    Ability to successfully complete pre-hire skills test and assessments, including practical field driving test

    Must be able to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment and annual physical examination + drug screening as required under HEPACO's Medical Surveillance Program.

    Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
    May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.

    Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety standards, including the occasional use of a respirator.

    Must be willing and able to enter into and work in confined and dark spaces, as well as in small boats, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.

    Frequent travel may be required.
