    We are looking for a full-time Sprinkler Service Fitter who will be responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing fire sprinkler systems. Fire sprinkler systems can mean life and death, so quality work and attention to detail are important. A fire sprinkler service fitter's duties include interpreting work specifications and fire codes, ensuring the installation meets NFPA13 specifications, coaching apprentices, following workplace procedures, and adhering to company safety policies.

    Essential Duties Responsibilities

    • Installation, modifications, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems.
    • Follow safety regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
    • Follow the company and industry standardized practices and/or methods.
    • Fill out work tickets and submit them when work is completed.
    • Clock in and clock out on the time-keeping app.
    • Work under limited supervision.
    • Train and coach fire sprinkler apprentice(s).
    • Attend training, safety, and education meetings to enhance knowledge of safety concerns and resolve related issues.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of fire sprinkler installation experience.
    • Knowledge of NFPA13, 25, and California Fire Code.
    • Proof of high school completion.
    • Valid driver's license without restrictions.
    • Valid Cal Fire fitter certification.
    • Basic understanding of measurements.
    • Read and understand inspection reports, product specification sheets, O&M manuals, drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
    • Complete knowledge of operating various electrical and mechanical tools such as saws, wrenches, cutting torches, drills, pipe threaders, lifts, ladders, and motor vehicles.
    • Ability to adhere to safety practices.
    • Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
    • Able to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license and evidence of insurability.
    • Complete knowledge of how to safely operate a pipe threading machine.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate written and electronic documentation (timesheets, work tickets, inspection reports, etc.).
    • Communicate clearly with clients and fellow team members.
    • Solve practical problems and create action plans.
    • Set priorities.
    • Meet deadlines and schedules.
    • Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances.
    • Work with frequent interruptions.

    Physical Requirements

    • Stay on your feet all day.
    • Lifting/carrying 50+ pounds with no fear of climbing or heights.
    • Work in elevated areas for extended periods.
    • Stamina for consistent tasks such as lifting, reaching side to side and overhead, climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and bending.
    • Repetitive hand and finger movements (simple and powerful) such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
    • Operate foot controls or repetitive foot movement.
    • Cut, thread, assemble, and bond pipe according to equipment specifications.
    • Secure pipes to structures with clamps and brackets using hand tools.
    • Ability to work under any weather condition in outdoor and indoor environments.

    Compensation is $25 - $38/hour depending on experience
