Position Description


The Manager of Student Programs (School Site-Based) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing out-of-school student programs under the guidance of the Regional Student Programs Director/Manager and school principal.

This includes managing vendors, out-of-school-time grade-level Mentors, and Site Leads to ensure that the program meets financial and logístical goals at the assigned site/s.


Program Management

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard student program staff.
  • Provide leadership, training, and supervision to parttime program staff to design and implement quality standardsaligned programming.
  • Manage program facilities and logistics.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times.
  • Create and manage the schedule of academic, recreation, and enrichment activities
  • Organize and facilitate afterschool program events and field trips
  • Programs Marketing and Promotion:
  • Community engagement and distribution of marketing and promotional materials
  • Town halls and other school event presentations as requested
  • Manage daytoday operations of the afterschool student programs (enrichment, After school, Intervention, Athletics)
  • Oversee academic, homework, and enrichment components so that activities are aligned with the needs and interests of individual participants
  • Implement a snack and supper program at the school site
  • Ensure that dismissal, including early pickup policy and procedures, is safe and in alignment with school policy.
  • Manage budget, scheduling, and supply orders
  • Travel to staff meetings, school meetings, and training as scheduled and required
  • Responsible for coordinating the three components of the program: experiential learning, enrichment, and recreation.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the supervisor

People Management

  • Communicate effectively with school administration, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Actively recruit, select, train and supervise frontline staff, vendors, and volunteers
  • Execute the evaluation of the program and performance of site staff
  • Build a positive, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and parents.
  • Recruit and enroll students to ensure daily attendance requirements are in alignment with program goals

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records (i.e., attendance, registration forms, staff signin sheets, etc.)
  • Maintain documentation on staff performance issues; provide guidance to staff as needed
  • Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, make recommendations for workplace safety
  • Follow school and CWC LA Charter procedures and policies for the safe operation of after school program
  • Complete annual program evaluations, including surveys of students, staff, and parents
  • Submit all required documentation on a timely basis (i.e., attendance, emergency cards, permission forms, and surveys)

Program Accounting

  • Manage monthly and biweekly family billing, collections, and account maintenance.
  • Support and facilitate the operation of outofschool time programs within
budgetary constraints and grant guidelines.


Skills/Knowledge Required:


  • Bachelor's degree attained or in progress (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with program management
  • 13 years of experience managing others
  • 13 years of classroom experience (preferred)
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience working in relevant elementary grades, or other highquality educational
