The Benefits Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and administering employee benefit program plans, enrollments, communications and education for all eligible SGMC Health employees.

Responsible for completing all necessary reporting of the benefits programs for SGMC Health and its campuses/affiliates.

Maintains strong working relationships with benefit vendors and key stakeholders and serves as lead on benefits related projects and events.

Serves as escalation point for benefits issues and concerns. Develops and maintains a wide variety of written materials (e.g. forms, procedures, brochures, pamphlets, website updates, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information to employees. Stays current with industry trends and standards to make well-informed recommendations for changes/improvement.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Combination of experience/education in lieu of one another required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years leadership or management experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Computer experience in HRIS, Windows, word processing, and spreadsheet required. Prefer Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational ability, with welldeveloped oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Exhibits independent decision making, manages stress appropriately, and works well with others; possessing tact and diplomacy while communicating with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines, and solves challenging problems in a fastpaced environment while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to lead, influence and negotiate.
  • Ability to speak and present information in large groups including leadership.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use HRIS systems and carrier administrative websites.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred.
