DUTIES:


  • Work with the Strategic Data Team to provide actionable data to stakeholders throughout the district to support the work of teaching and learning.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support to schools in acquiring, analyzing, and understanding data.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand data needs and define reporting requirements.
  • Develop new and enhance existing reports and dashboards in Power BI to meet the identified needs of stakeholders in alignment with district priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and refine as needed early warning indicators, key performance metrics, and district performance monitoring tools.
  • Provide data reporting to assist the district and individual schools in monitoring progress towards targets.
  • Promote a self-service data culture.
  • Fulfill internal and external data requests in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative research projects into a variety of questions.
  • Audit the district's state reporting data (EPIMS, SIMS, SCS, and SSDR) prior to submission.
  • Perform related work as assigned by the Administrator of Strategic Data and Accountability, Chief Information Officer, or Superintendent, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Math, Business, or related field required (Master's preferred).
  • Experience conducting research and data analysis in a K-12 educational environment preferred.
  • Experience partnering with outside individuals and organizations to conduct research.
  • Experience with designing and implementing user-friendly dashboards and reports in a data warehousing or business intelligence environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting platform preferred.
  • Training in and knowledge of research methods with expertise in one or more methodologies.
  • Experience managing complex projects and effectively balancing numerous competing priorities.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance to senior staff and to assist the Chief Information Officer and Superintendent in resolving problems of strategy, policy, and operations.
  • Creativity, strategic thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills.
  • Thorough communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, department heads, and the general public.
