The People Relations Consultant (PRC) will partner with leadership in developing strategic initiatives, provide high quality HR counsel and establish policies that drive operational excellence for Vertex, Legacy Schools and School of Excellence.
This person must thrive and prosper in a fast-paced environment and still be able to navigate and deliver amidst changing priorities and ambiguous circumstances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provide tactical hands-on support to leaders in all employee related matters.- Implement a tracking methodology and analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.- Mediate employee concerns and proactively address opportunities for policy improvement or revision.- Collaboratively establish HR policy guidance and interpretation as needed including but not limited to handbook policy revisions. Build high functioning relationships with leaders in assigned schools/departments to support and anticipate needs.- Manage and monitor HR compliance including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, certification, labor law postings, and OSHA requirements.- Respond to OSHA requests, investigations and cases.- Partner within HR departments - Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Operations and Talent Management projects and rollout.- Partner with campus administration, HR Service Manager and Superintendents in determining breach of contract criteria and actions.- Communicate with employees and clients at all levels, understanding the specific needs of those in question and implementing proactive solutions where applicable.- Proactively anticipate organizational needs and collaborate to develop sustainable programs for current state and future growth of the organization.- Responsible for new customer integration.- Oversee EEOC and other legal matters.- Reconcile and respond to Employee Reporting incidents including but not limited to investigations.- Manage unemployment hearings.- Conduct exit interviews for administrators and leaders.- Analyze feedback and provide retention solutions to leadership.- Reconcile and account for legal fees and dues, while providing strategic oversight to minimize cost to the organization.- Develop and execute training of HR programs internally and externally.- Provide excellent service to school administration, Vertex leadership and employees.- Participate and contribute to execution of Vertex thematic goals and project teams.- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certifications & Experience- Bachelor's degree including strong understanding of HR principles and practices- 4+ years of progressive HR experience (or 2 years of HR experience within education industry)- Consultation experience in advising leaders- Proficiency in Google Suite and Google docs.

BACKGROUND CHECKS- The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.- Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Travel between campuses on a regular basis (may include national travel).- This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.- This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
