Verdani Partners is seeking a highly motivated Decarbonization Manager to join our Decarbonization team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in data analysis, interpersonal communication, and time management.
The successful candidate will work directly with Decarbonization team members to develop and implement decarbonization initiatives on behalf of Verdani's global commercial real estate clients.
Primary responsibilities for this position include managing the development and completion of decarbonization analyses for multiple clients using Verdani's proprietary CRREM-aligned tool, supporting the creation of decarbonization roadmaps and/or strategic plans on behalf of our clients, and completing industry research on cutting edge best practices around decarbonization that are aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP).
Additional duties for this position include completing technical audit report reviews, supporting the completion of Scope 3 materiality assessments and/or Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions inventories, conducting electrification and/or offsite renewable energy program analyses on behalf of clients, and may include performing on-site solar feasibility studies, or energy/ decarbonization audits.
The person in this role shall be an internal subject matter expert (SME) on decarbonization topics on behalf of our team.
This role requires cross-functional team collaboration and task delegation with client account team members internal to Verdani Partners. This position also requires coordination directly with clients.Therefore, applicants must have excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills to clearly explain the strategies, benefits, risks, and opportunities of the projects and plans being implemented.
The position involves producing high-quality reports inclusive of data analysis and assessments, concise narratives, tables, charts, and infographics using Microsoft Office suite products and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This position also requires daily meetings with team members, clients, and property managers either in person or via videoconferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meeting, or WebEx, to name a few.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's Degree:
Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Technology, other related fields
Preferred:
Master's Degree:
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, energy field other related fields
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)
LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional – EBOM
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
Passion for sustainability and green buildings
A self-motivator with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at a time
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Ability to effectively work with a team
Detail-oriented mindset
Preferred:
Experience with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP)
Experience with carbon accounting (Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions)
Experience with Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD)
Experience or familiarity with Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM)
Experience with tracking and reporting Scope 3 emissions
Familiarity with common building systems such as lighting, HVAC, and building envelope
Familiarity with common building electrification strategies across diverse property types
Familiarity with Electrification ordinances
Familiarity with Building Performance Standards and Energy Efficiency ordinances
Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
Experience with Measurable
Experience with project management platforms such as
Experience conducting Energy Audits (e.g., ASHRAE Level I, II, III), Net Zero/ Decarbonization Audits
Experience performing On-Site Solar Feasibility Studies with software such as Helioscope
Familiarity with commercial contract structures for On-Site solar and wind power
Familiarity with multiple types of off-site renewable energy programs/contracts
LANGUAGES
Fluent in English. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
