- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- On the days cases are performed, preparation begins at 8:00 am, with the last cases of the day completed prior to 4:00 pm for cleaning and tidying.
- 974-bed level 1 trauma center.
- Regional Medical Examiner facility associated with an Academic Medical Center.
- No night shifts.
- Over 90% of autopsies are forensic cases, with the remainder being hospital-associated.
- Autopsy procedures are performed with the assistance of an autopsy assistant.
- Approximately 4 to 6 cases per day, with 1 to 3 autopsies per day depending on complexity.
- Remote options for testimony are becoming more common for legal proceedings.
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology.
- Board eligibility or fellowship training in Forensic Pathology.
