Responsibilities

The System Engineer II-Network is a member of the Networking Engineering team who helps with field networking: setting up and maintaining network infrastructure in the medical campus area, such as switch installation, code upgrades, and lifecycle management of the campus LAN environment.

The System Engineer II will start to contribute to strategies, standards, new capabilities, build and design automated workflows, and link multiple services or product lines within the organization. The System Engineer II will have experience in design, implementation and support of infrastructure, software, applications, and/or security. The position will be willing to learn Agile and/or Lean methodologies to provide information services in an effective and consistent way.

The System Engineer II collaborates with customers, stakeholders, analysts, architects, and other engineers to solve and identify the cause of technology and security problems. They must be good team players and have basic to intermediate knowledge for at least one additional enterprise technology.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, computer science, math, information systems, statistics or business required. Relevant experience (min. of 4 years) may be substituted for educational requirements.

Experience: 0+ years of experience in delivery of IT solutions to include server, storage, network, client systems engineering and/or security engineering required. 1-3+ years of experience preferred.

Skills: Thorough understanding of current development and trends in Information Technology and working knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

Infrastructure engineering: network, server, storage, voice, and/or information security
Software engineering
Business Intelligence
Data center engineering
Data architecture and data exchange
Windows and Linux
Database engineering
Public cloud environments

Strong soft skills, verbal and written communications, including the ability to turn complex technical topics into understandable terminology is a necessity.

This position must have the proven ability to contribute to projects and initiatives from kick off to completion.

This position builds trust among colleagues, is a continuous learner, and focuses on delivering capabilities for the customer.
