- 8 students in classroom with varying disabilities
- working mostly 1 : 1
- Paras in classroom to assist and other nurses onsite
- One older student has a genetic disorder, non verbal, has a trach and feeding tube. Requires a Hoyerlift for transfer.She is picked up each morning by the nurse in the minivan.
- Another student in a wheelchair for cerebral palsy.
- A few students with seizure disorders, one does have seizures frequently at times, is cyclic.
- One student is legally blind.
- The teacher is wonderful in the classroom. There are paras that are assigned to the class also.
- The class will go out into the community at times. It does involve a summer component for 6 weeks, Monday through Thursday, shorter days.
- The Life skillsclassis physically very close to the Health Office at the HS so there is always additional nursing support.

- Administering basic medical care and first aid to students as needed.
- Managing and administering medications to students in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and maintaining student health records.
- Assessing and addressing the health needs of students with chronic conditions.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to create and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with special health needs.
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care.
- Promoting health and wellness education within the school community.
- Maintaining a clean and organized healthcare office.
- Valid Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) license in the state of MA
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate and dedicated to the well-being of students.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
