Description
The Energy Management System (EMS) Project Manager directly oversees EMS projects and activities.

This includes business development activity, operational execution planning, managing EMS installations, maintenance services, delivering the projects within budget and at pre-determined cost level.

This individual will work closely with the client and construction manager providing status updates on timelines as well as budgeted costs and change orders.

The PM will most likely be working on multiple projects for multiple clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Bid job opportunities as needed
  • Manage and train field teams in proper installation/modification of EMS systems.
  • Analyze drawings/specifications and verify field team adherence to all customer, company, and legal requirements.
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions.
  • Assist CM in gathering accurate and wellorganized estimates and proposals in a timely manner.
  • Provide clear detailed quantity take offs and ensure job foreman are maintaining proper job site material and equipment inventory for minimum of 2 weeks work.
  • Organize subcontractor's quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders.
  • Create and execute project work plans, including tracking and reporting resource availability, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities. Establish clear project roles and responsibilities for field crews.
  • Execute construction manager coordinated plans for communication, project risk, change management, and training.
  • Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
  • Resolve and/or escalate field and customer issues in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate effectively with field crews to evaluate needs, discuss solutions, and execute efficient and safe solutions.
  • Assist the Construction Manager during bidding, negotiation, and post bid process.
  • Continually monitor job sites to ensure safety and drive production.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan properly to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in EMS & retail industry
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently while remote
  • 7+ years of experience in a job in the Commercial Refrigeration market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical background, with experience in Commercial Refrigeration related to Retail Supermarkets
  • Excellent teamworking skills
  • Proven ability to influence crossfunctional teams without formal authority
  • Experience with EMS systems (Emerson E2, Danfoss, RDM, MicroThermal, Carel, JCI, ALC, etc)
  • Be an honest team player, growthoriented, ability to do whatever it takes; safely

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Occasional light lifting of office equipment, materials and boxes; frequent walking and standing; requires dexterity in use of fingers for the operation of computers and other office equipment.

All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment.
