This position assists RNs, LPNs, PCTs and Physicians in the patient care process. The Unit Assistant assists the nursing staff in monitoring the heart rhythms of patients on telemetry. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. Some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips may be required.
