Position Overview

Responsible for sorting and managing freight flowing in and out of various types of transport vehicles like over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks. Utilizes forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight efficiently.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to load and unload trailers while complying with all relevant regulations.
• Utilize dock tools to ensure secure and proper loading of freight, maintaining straps, bars, air bags, and more.
• Handle loading, recouping, rewrapping, and stacking of freight as necessary.
• Verify shipments, read labels accurately, and secure freight properly for loading and unloading.
• Adhere to bill and quality control procedures for efficient and error-free shipments.
• Document and address any freight shortages or damages promptly.
• Promote and uphold a safe and organized workspace.

Desired Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in warehouse, freight, dock, forklift operation, or handling pallet jacks.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training is a plus.
• Ability to handle objects of varied shapes, sizes, and weights.

Pay Rate: $25.50 per hour, based on experience.
