The University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) currently seeks a passionate Human Resources Generalist II.

The position entails comprehensive recruitment responsibilities encompassing all paid appointments within the department, including faculty, staff, and physicians. This includes coordinating search committee meetings, managing advertising budgets, and liaising with external advertisers and UF Health Marketing. The role involves attending recruitment events, scheduling and conducting interviews, and facilitating onboarding processes.

Additionally, the position involves HR administrative duties, such as assisting with identity management and departmental events and serving as backup for various HR functions.

The incumbent will also oversee faculty assignment management and play a pivotal role in payroll duties, ensuring pay accuracy and addressing discrepancies with the departmental Payroll and Leave processor.

Effective communication and collaboration with the Human Resources & Office Manager is essential for success.


Recruitment duties:

Manage and monitor all aspects of the recruitment for all paid appointments, which includes faculty, staff, and staff physicians, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Launching all recruitment through the College of Medicine request process
  • Writing job postings for the University job portal and outside advertisements
  • Scheduling Search Committee Meetings and advertising as required
  • Attend Search Committee Meetings as the department's Recruiter
  • Prepare and oversee the position advertising budget
  • Prepare and advertise open positions in the UF portal and all outside advertisers
  • Work with UF Health Marketing for position advertising materials
  • Maintain the CHFM Department website related to "careers" to include work with UF Health Marketing as needed
  • Attend recruitment fairs and organization events to promote positions with CHFM
  • Schedule interviews and official visits for all Faculty, Staff physicians, and all healthcare hires, including all communication and preparation of interview supplies for all participants.
  • Work directly with hiring managers to assist as needed with staff interviews
  • As needed, conduct phaseone interviews for staff positions.
  • Process all aspects of hiring, health clearance, and credentialing needed for the Faculty, Staff Physician, and UF Health Advanced Practice Providers
  • Processing hospital credentials for new faculty appointments and reappointments and processing Medical Staff office documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate the faculty Orientation and Onboarding schedules, including preparing and updating materials
  • Manage the Equity files for the CHFM HR department
  • Back up to processing TEAMS staff and OPS staff hires as needed

Miscellaneous HR Administrative duties:


  • Assist with Identity Management activities and the GatorLink account creation for employees as needed
  • Assist with the department's events, such as the Administrative Retreat, farewell and retirement, and other events as assigned.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as ordering lunches and supplies needed in the Human Resources area:
  • Serve as a backup for non-faculty hire processing
  • Serve as a backup for all nonfaculty orientation planning and execution
  • Provide training to junior CHFM-HR employees
  • Serve as a backup for the CHFM Human Resources & Office Manager in their absence

Other Duties:


  • Other administrative, personnel, and payroll duties will be assigned, which includes regular crosstraining with the HR team to ensure a fullservice Human Resources team to serve the department leadership team and all CHFM employees.
  • All tasks and duties require regular communication with the Human Resources & Office Manager, including regular meetings to discuss progress and the status of tasks.

Faculty Assignment Management:


  • Oversee the department's Academic Activities reporting (AAR), including collecting from Academic Assistants, reviewing, and marking reports complete
  • Process the department's Effort reports each semester

Payroll duties (Each bi-weekly pay cycle):

  • Monitor the bi-weekly preliminary pay lists daily to ensure pay is accurate
  • Approve all time and leave for CHFM faculty and APPs
  • Works directly with CHFM HR department's payroll and leave processor to edit and correct errors
  • Updates the department's tracking spreadsheet to track pay, any needed corrections, etc.
  • Works directly with the department's HR Manager regarding any issues or trends that must be managed.

Expected Salary:


The starting salary range is $52,000 to $60,000, commensurate with experience.
