Description
Responsibilities:
- Pull, route, and terminate copper cabling systems.
- Install networking and security equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and cameras.
- Initial programming of the above equipment.
- Collaborate with technicians and staff to ensure successful project completion.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and network connectivity issues.
- Document all installations and changes according to company policies.
- Maintain an inventory of necessary equipment and materials.
- Provide technical support to customers and endusers as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant technical certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI Installer, CompTIA Network+).
- 12 years of experience in low voltage cabling installation and maintenance.
- Experience in both residential and commercial settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Fiber Optic systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
- Ability to interpret building plans and cabling schematics.
- Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers, access control and surveillance software and MS office is required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand, kneel, and crawl as necessary.
- Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights using ladders and lifts.
Experience:
- Low voltage cabling: 12 years minimum.
