Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team.
As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide quality dental care to our patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient X-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting surfaces
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, taking Xrays, and providing suction
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and postoperative care instructions
- Take and develop patient Xrays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Assist with front desk duties such as answering phone calls, verifying insurance information, and processing payments
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and equipment
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping and adherence to infection control protocols
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy for patients' needs
