Veterinary Financial Liaison

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Financial Liaison to join our team in Buzzards Bay.

About this Role


The Financial Liaison is an invaluable member of our Client Care Associates (CCA) team, dedicated to assisting clients with all aspects surrounding bill payment as well as payment and financing options.

The Financial Liaison will also perform client care responsibilities as needed to support the CCA team and clients.

This person should consistently contribute to a spirit of pride and excitement in that each employee is part of a team practicing excellent medicine with a high standard of patient, client, and referring veterinarian care.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Clearly explain all financial options available to owner
  • Assist pet owners in completing and submitting necessary paperwork for funding options
  • Obtain insurance preapprovals and complete insurance submissions
  • Review and explain estimates clearly
  • Assist in training staff members to perform necessary financial liaison duties in times when a liaison is not available
  • Provide customer service in a polite and timely manner
  • Closing of drawer and deposit procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the veterinary hospital is preferred (technician, liaison, customer service)
  • Demonstrate compassion and remain nonjudgmental when having difficult conversations surrounding financial concerns
  • Professional, pleasant, engaged, clear communicator who is attentive and respectful to referring veterinarians, clients, and coworkers.
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks, be confident, and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Computer experience (Word, Excel) and operation of office equipment such as fax machine, copy machine, credit card and check terminal, and postage meter.
  • Related veterinary software (DVMax) and Care Credit knowledge preferred.
  • Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits and process payments
Salary, Schedule, and Benefits Include (but are not limited to)

  • Salary range for this position is $20 to $22 hourly, commensurate with experience
  • Schedule: This is a swing shift position on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays from 2p12a
  • The initial training schedule will differ and includes training with the CCAs and with the financial liaisons.
