About Sunrise:

Since 2015, Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center is the largest provider of homeless services in Travis County We offer pathways to housing for people experiencing homelessness through low-barrier access to wraparound services by providing innovative, trauma-informed, and person-centered programming that engages our communities and leads system-wide transformation.

Through the Sunrise Hub day center, Sunrise Hotline call center, Sunrise Mobile outreach and shelter services, and Sunrise Housing program we serve more than 10,000 people experiencing homelessness each year.

Total Compensation Range:
$60,000 - $65,000 including unlimited PTO, Health/Retirement Reimbursement, Professional Development Stipend, Connectivity Allowance

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofits, volunteer management, event production, fundraising, marketing, and/or communications preferred
  • Proven track record of successful events
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Strong event and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in volunteer and donor management software (Kindful, Give Pulse)
  • Passion for Sunrise's mission and clients

Position Responsibilities:

Community Engagement

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Sunrise's annual community engagement plan and goals to maintain and expand contributions from volunteers, donors, special events, corporations, and faithbased groups
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate external events, including an annual fundraiser, donor and volunteer events, and donation drives
  • Represent Sunrise to the community by coordinating speaking opportunities and serving as the organization's representative at external fairs, group visits, corporate luncheons, awards ceremonies, cultivation visits, etc
  • Supervise the Community Engagement Coordinator, ensuring all volunteer shifts are filled based on the identified minimum coverage
Marketing and Communications

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Sunrise's marketing and communications plan and goals to effectively communicate the Sunrise's impact and mission
  • Create and utilize a library of impactful stories in collaboration with program staff
Fundraising

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Sunrise's monthly giving program, Amplify Austin campaign and endofyear giving campaign
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the volunteer and donor relationship management process with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Executive Director (ED), and key solicitors to include identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors at segmented levels
Project Management

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate database systems to ensure accurate and timely data collection, coding, analysis, reporting, and acknowledgment for volunteers and donors
  • Accurately record and manage jobrelated tasks in project management system (Asana)
Position Considerations

  • The Director of Community Engagement is required to attend staff meetings in person
  • The Director of Community Engagement will work crossdepartmentally with the Director of Operations to maintain outlined community engagement workflow and guidelines are met
  • The Director of Community Engagement will comply with and develop sustainable funding in accordance with Sunrise's Strategic Plan
  • The Director of Community Engagement will support Sunrise's goal to infuse diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in everything we do

Pay:
$60, $65,000.00 per year
