The role of the Controller is to plan, direct and control the accounting functions of each local brand, with direction and leadership from the Co-Founder/CEO.

The Controller is responsible for leadership, management, and performance in the local brand and ensures financial reporting is done accurately and in a timely manner.

The Controller will be a key partner to the Executive Team in developing all accounting activities in-house, proactively upgrading and implementing rigorous accounting practices, and supporting ongoing business analytics, with the opportunity for additional responsibilities and career advancement over time.

• Establish operations of the Accounting Department, encompassing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, working capital management, and distributions.
• Lead the monthly and yearend closing process, ensuring the preparation of financial statements, financial reporting and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop performance dashboard / KPI tracking published to the Executive Team and local brands daily, upgrade systems, processes, and other resources as needed to deliver high quality, timely financial reporting.
• In conjunction with Co-Founder and CEO, develop yearly financial plan to include a budget, an operating plan, and regular updated forecasts.
• Assist in preparation of annual corporate tax returns and K1s for investors
• Controller will establish and hold routine administration department meetings to share company goals, results, and performance.
• From time to time, the Co-Founder/CEO may ask, or require the controller to perform functions or duties outside the scope of the role description.

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related major
• CPA is preferred
• 5+ years' experience as an accounting manager or controller
• Experience with cost accounting preferred
• High competency with ERP accounting software, spreadsheets, databases, data extraction, and MS tools. Service Titan/Sage Impact experience helpful.
• Credibility and strong business ethics skills
• Hands on leader possessing strong organizational skill with attention to detail
• Strong EXCEL skills and accounting information systems experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Confidential, understands the ethical standards of a CPA
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
