Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology Oncology are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Bone Marrow Transplant/Immunotherapy Fellow with an appointment as Acting Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. This is a full-time, 12-month service period, annual appointment. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch.
The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to participate in a year-long fellowship program with the goal of becoming an expert in pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and Immunotherapy. This position will rotate through outpatient HCT services (autologous and allogeneic transplant, immunotherapy, Long Term Follow Up) and on the inpatient transplant service initially as a primary care provider with increasing levels of independent patient care responsibility over the course of the year. Exposure to some of our unique clinical programs, including non-malignant transplantation, high risk leukemia, and survivorship, will be part of the learning experience as well. Approximately 60-75% of the year will be devoted to clinical activities with the remaining time available for the opportunity to participate in research projects, which will be determined based on identification of mentors and projects.
