    Summary

    The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. include holidays and special events. Must pass criminal background check and drug test.

    Duties

    This position has the unique ability to serve several different roles within the facility. Employees will be able to work as a, front office cashier, slide attendant, within the concession stand as a cashier and food prep and/or pool party attendant and custodial duties as assigned.
    • Responsible for patron entrance, daily admission cashiering and party guest entrance
    • Responsible for assisting with food prep and concessions cashiering
    • Responsible for assisting with pool parties, guest check, custodial duties and pavilion clean-up
    • Responsible for the supervision, enforcement of rules at the top of the slide and dispatch of slide patrons
    Qualifications

    If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
    • Attend mandatory drug testing
    • Attend mandatory orientation
    • Attend all paid pre-season training sessions
    • Attend all mandatory paid weekly in-service trainings
    • Be available for a minimum of 70 work days over the course of the season.
    • Be at work on time for every scheduled shift
    • Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
    • Wear staff uniform only while on duty
    • Work weekdays, weekends and holidays as well as opening and/or closing daily shifts.
    • Be willing to substitute for others
    • Be willing to work together for the better of the team
    • Report to the Aquatics Coordinator or the Pool Manager and/or Food Service Manager on duty if the Aquatics Coordinator is off site.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
    Knowledge & Skills
    Must be at least 16 years of age. The Guest Services position will have training provided in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED usage training, as well as the online ServSafe food handler certification. A professional attitude is needed. The applicant should possess leadership abilities, interpersonal and team work skills, analytical skills, initiative and good communication skills.
    Supplemental Information

    Working Conditions
    Work is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Guest Services employee will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

    Job Type- Seasonal

    In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours work over 40 in a designated work week.
