Description

We are seeking a results-driven and hands-on colleague to join our mechanical services team as a Field Service Technician based out of Three Rivers, Michigan.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Mechanical Services.


The Field Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, and installation of Kadant Johnson products and other dryer equipment.

The Field Service Technician may also be required to provide training seminars and solo technical support or troubleshooting at customer sites.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, inspect and troubleshoot Kadant Johnson products
  • Prepare detailed reports following site work including problems encountered, site specific issues, and recommendations to improve the product performance
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Systems, Engineering, and Product fulfillment group to support customer needs
  • Manage and maintain assigned company service tools and/or service vehicle, safety equipment, and associated consumables.
  • Work independently and in team environments on customer sites and in Kadant Johnson facilities as directed

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience installing or servicing industrial processing equipment
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and skills
  • Familiar with metric and English units, fastener sizes, and able to convert units
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools
  • Able to interpret drawings as well as measure and make legible sketches of customers' equipment for reporting and conveying information
  • Must be willing and able to enter confined spaces for repairs and inspections
  • Willing and able to drive or fly, and work on short notice including weekdays, weekends, and holidays to satisfy customer needs
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office 36
  • Maintain a Valid driver's license
