Summary:
To order the day-to-day requirements of raw materials and packaging goods needed by the plant.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
  • Advises necessary personnel of material shortages or volatile price fluctuations.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
  • Obtains samples and pricing from alternate sources for materials which are currently single sourced or are questionable as to future availability or have sustained pricing upswings.
  • Interfaces with R&D on obtaining new raw materials.
  • Updates costs for customer quotes as required by Sales.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has one direct supervisory responsibility.


Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
This position requires an Associate degree or five years of associated experience.


Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.


Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


Computer Skills:
Ability to work on Windows based systems, utilizing primarily Excel spreadsheets.
