DESCRIPTION:


The Director Grants Development, directs all activities associated with planning, pursuing, writing, securing, and managing external grant awards from public and private sources to advance institutional effectiveness, support academic initiatives, and ensure student success.

Provides leadership in the internal processes related to grants planning and serves as the College's primary contact with grant funding agencies.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Provides leadership in identifying opportunities and strategies to procure external grants funding congruent with institutional priorities and College-wide initiatives. Recommends, prepares, and implements appropriate course of action regarding grant submissions to the District Board of Trustees.
  • Hires and supervises Grants Office personnel to ensure optimum grants procurement productivity, efficient operation of area, and compliance with internal and external grant seeking and management policies.
  • Writes and submits grant proposals to federal, state, local, and non-profit organizations. Assures high quality submissions by overseeing final editing and production processes for submitted grants.
  • Ensures grant funding compliance in relation to institutional policies, mission, goals, and priorities. Develops appropriate strategies to enhance proposals' competitive position. Develops and secures approval of the annual action plan to pursue external grants funding and directs the execution.
  • Identifies and maintains strategic partnerships and strong relations with program officers, funding prospects and agencies, community, businesses, and other educational institutions and systems to leverage grant funding.
  • Develops annual budget and monitors the expenditures to support the area of responsibility as outlined in the annual strategic plan.
  • Closely collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and the Seminole State College Foundation to identify, plan, and develop grant funding strategies and requests.
  • Monitors the tracking of grants effectiveness measures with Institutional Research and the Business Services Office. Develops reports outlining measurable outcomes of grant-funded initiatives.
  • Participates in state, regional, and national professional organizations and attends technical assistance workshops to remain current on grant funding opportunities, regulations, requirements, and procedures.
  • Serves on college, community and professional committees and boards as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience:


  • Minimum five (5) years of handson experience in proposal writing and grants management.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in writing federal, state, or private foundation grants specifically for higher education institutions.
  • Minimum five (5) years of successful staff supervision or team leadership.
