Gas Service Technician Trainee

DEPARTMENT:
Gas Meter Service

Union Represented Position

ROLE & SCOPE:
The Gas Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines, and gas appliances. They also conduct gas leak tests and work on various gas-powered systems such as boilers, ovens, fireplaces, refrigerators, and heating systems. Additionally, they are in charge of connecting appliances to gas, water, and electrical supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Education or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of related experience, with a preference for gas utility experience.
Completion of company training programs and evaluations is mandatory for this role.
Successful passing of a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test following D.O.T regulations is required.
Valid driver's license is a must.
Capability and willingness to perform demanding physical tasks both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
Past work history demonstrating consistent adherence to safety protocols.

COMPENSATION:
The hourly rate for this position starts at Step 1, $39.81, and increases in line with the union contract.
