- Analyze and account for general ledger data transactions and prepare appropriate journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Analyze, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Record journal entries accurately in the general ledger.
- Prepare required filings and reports for GAAP and Regulatory compliance.
- Asset in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheet, income statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Prepare necessary documentation and respond to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with audit inquires.
- Prepare analyses/schedules for auditors as assigned.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Assist with special projects requiring knowledge of the general accounting function, financial reporting, and applicable accounting standards.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, with thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures applicable to the utility or similar industry.
Utility industry experience is desirable. Will consider an entry level Accounting Analyst I for this role as well.Skills:
