We support student success through an array of services and resources including housing, dining, student orientation, recreation, student government, student organizations, and legal, career, transition, health, well-being, and crisis services.

The Division employs 800 career staff, 2,000 student and hourly staff, and manages a budget of over $180 million.
The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs is the executive management unit for the Division of Student Affairs.
The Senior (Sr) Human Resources Manager for the Division of Student Affairs is a full-time position providing leadership impacting full and part-time employees across 31+
DSA
units.
The position is responsible for the leadership, management, and coordination of human resources activities, providing guidance on all Human Resources (HR) matters, and leading efforts to recruit and retain a diverse workforce for the Division of Student Affairs.
The position serves as a strategic advisor on human resources matters, working closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs and Vice President Council to plan and manage strategic initiatives related to human capital management and staffing needs.
The Sr Human Resources Manager is expected to have and/or obtain working knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations as well as Colorado State University (
CSU) practices, policies, and regulations to apply human resources best practices, trends, and theory in their work.

The Sr Human Resource Manager manages and guides division staff in activities related to talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll/HR systems, worker's compensation, benefits, and salary administration.

senior leadership, Hiring Authorities, Supervisors, and Human Resource Liaisons to promote and support a collaborative team environment informed by the

Principles of Community; effectively leading with influence rather than by positional authority. They work collaboratively with

philosophy, culture of community, and diversity/inclusion initiatives within units' HR functions.
This position mentors HR staff and liaisons to ensure HR acumen and competency exists across the Division, acting as primary resource for operational units within the Division.

The Sr HR Manager advises and communicates directly with designated Division HR Liaisons and Administrative staff performing HR functions; and ensures that Directors, Hiring Authorities, and Supervisors receive information on all human resources related information, policies, procedures, trainings, etc.
The Sr Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs & Co-Chair of Student Affairs in Higher Education Graduate Program and is a member of the Vice President of Student Affairs Council andDSA

Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related degree and 7 years progressive professional human resource experience; OR
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree plus 3 years professional Human Resources experience
Experience managing and implementing HR processes in a high volume and complex environment
Employee relations experience with a variety of employee groups
Experience with confidentiality related to employee/personnel information and processes
Working knowledge of employment related law and practices
Experience adjusting to multiple/changing priorities, workload volume, and deadlines
Commitment to supporting diverse populations (i.e., race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class, religion, etc.) through personal and/or professional efforts
